 Chemical Specialities
| Cfm Oskar Tropitsch is known in the industry for being able to offer almost any product, no matter how scarce the substance may be. We have listed a small selection to give you a general idea of our chemical specialities. |
 | DL-Dithiothreitol (DTT/Clelands Reagent)
 Derivate of sugaralcohol

| CAS-No: | 3483-12-3 |
| Molecular weight: | 154,25 g/mol |
| Empirical formula: | C4H10O2S2 |
| Availability: | grams - tonnes |
| Purity: | min 99% (iodometric) |
| | |
 | Used in molecular biology. DTT preserves proteins of interiors of cells in their functional form by avoiding the oxidation of Sulfhidril-groups (SH-) into disulifidbridges through atmospheric oxygen. On the other hand the convolution of proteins whose structure is stabilised by disulfidbridges may be destroyed by their reduction. It is an important reagent in the course of SDS-PAGE and Western-Blotting respectively. |

 | Curare
 Collective name for arrow poisons

| CAS-No: | 8063-06-7 |
| Molecular weight: | 622,8 g/mol |
| Empirical formula: | C37H42Cl2N2O6 |

 | D-Tubocurare is the active ingredient of curare, which is used as an arrow poison by the natives of South America. It prevents Acetylcholin from linking to nicotinerge receptors of the neuromuscular end-plate by competitive displacement. Due to this blocking of the Actycholine linkage there is no opening of the postsynaptic ducts and no action potential is transmitted. Moreover Curare blocks receptors of the autonomous gangliocytes. Curare is used in small doses in homeopathy to cure palsies. |

 | Rampamycin (Sirolimus)
Peptidlacton with 31 elements produced by Streptomyce hygroscopious in which a long-chain Carboyilic Acid with L-Pipecolinacid is cyclised as a bridge.

| CAS-No: | 53123-88-9 |
| Molecular weight: | 914,2 g/mol |
| Empirical formula: | C51H79NO13 |
| Availability: | grams - tonnes |
| Quality: | 1. min 97% 2. GMP-Quality |

 | Rapamycin as a drug is for instance used after renal transplantation to avoid organ rejection. It is known as an immunosuppressive drug and has a strong cell destroying effect which makes it interesting for other purposes such as fighting cancer, immune mediated diseases and diabetes mellitus. Rampamycin blocks T-Lymphocytes and dendristic cells and is therefore able to prevent immune reactions in the initial stage. The growth obstructing effect of Rampamycin is also used for drug coated stents. It prevents the small lattice tubes to occlude again by cell growth. |
 | Geldanamycin
A fermentation product obtained from Streptomyces hygroscopious geldanus.

| CAS-No: | 30562-34-6 |
| Molecular weight: | 560,65 g/mol |
| Empirical formula: | C29H40N2O9 |
| Availability: | grams - MT |
| Purity: | min. 97% |
| | |
 | Geldamycin is among other things used to cure cancer patients. It specifically ties up to the heat shock proteine HSP 90 and changes its function. The bond of Geldamycin to HSP 90 causes the decomposition of target-proteins such as Tyrosinkinasen, Steroidrezeptoren, Transkriptionsfactors and cell-cycle regulative Kinasen. It induces the inactivation, destabilisation and finally the decomposition of HIF-1a. An extremely interesting research reagent for the biotechnology industry. |

 | Thimerosal (Thiomersal)
 organic compound

| CAS-No: | 54-64-8 |
| Molecular weight: | 404,81 g/mol |
| Empirical formula: | C9H9HgNaO2S |
| Availability: | grams - tonnes |
| Quality: | Ph. EUR/BP/USP |
| | |
 | Thimerosal, which is obtained from Ethylmercury-chloride, hydrous NaOH and Thiosalicylic acid is used among other things in liquid medical preparations to keep them sterilised. Moreover it is used in disinfecting irrigations, as a preservative in vaccines, drops and ointments for eyes, in blood plasmas as well as in veterinary medicine and for antiseptic surgical dressing. |
 | LL-Z-1640-2
A fermentation product obtained with the aid of Deuteromycetes.

| CAS-No: | 66018-38-0 |
| Molecular weight: | 362,37 g/mol |
| Empirical formula: | C19H22O7 |
| Availability: | milligrams - grams |
| Purity: | min. 94% |
| | |
 | The macrocyclic compound LL-Z-1640-2 is an inhibitor of the JNK/p38 nerve tracts. It impedes anisomycin-induced but not TNF-induced JNK/p38 activation which leads to the conclusion that the impediment mechanism is signal specific. Research reagent. |
