Description: Anisomycin is a pyrrolidine antibiotic that inhibits protein and DNA synthesis. Anisomycin acts by inhibiting peptidyl transferase activity in eukaryote ribosomes. Actinomycin is described to induce apoptosis in avariety of cells including promyelocytic leukemia cells, Jurkat cells, ventricular myocytes and colon adenocarcinoma cells. Anisomycin is a selective signaling agonist.
