It contains resins, alkaloids, flavonoids, glycosides, steroids, terpenes and saponins, which have various medical effects. An example is Balsamin that is isolated from the seeds of Momordica Balsamina.<\/p><p>It has broad antiviral activity because it blocks the replication of influenza viruses.
