Gold is a metallic yellow transition\nmetal and belongs to the copper group, as does copper and other precious metals\nsuch as silver. In chemistry, these three metals are also referred to as\n“coin metals”. In addition to ritual use as jewelry or means of\npayment, gold is also used as an additive in food as E175. It is used in\nmedicine, electronics, optics, decoration or as a food additive and still has\nthe function of an investment and a currency.
