O6-[4-(Aminomethyl)benzyl]guanine is a cross linking reagent. Available in bulk quantities. CoA, BSE/TSE. O-[4-(Aminomethyl)benzyl]guanine is an inhibitor, shown to be effective against desmocollin, it is a phenoxy and pentafluorophenyl derivative of guanine. This compound binds to amines and thiosemicarbazide, causing cross-linking of the amino acids lysine and arginine. This inhibition leads to cell death by preventing the synthesis of proteins and DNA. O-[4-(Aminomethyl)benzyl]guanine also reacts with chloride ions to form alkylation products such as chloral hydrate and chloralformamide. These compounds could be used as insecticides or herbicides.
