O6-[4-(Aminomethyl)benzyl]guanine is a cross linking reagent. Available in bulk quantities. CoA, BSE/TSE. O-[4-(Aminomethyl)benzyl]guanine is an inhibitor, shown to be effective against desmocollin, it is a phenoxy and pentafluorophenyl derivative of guanine. This compound binds to amines and thiosemicarbazide, causing cross-linking of the amino acids lysine and arginine. This inhibition leads to cell death by preventing the synthesis of proteins and DNA. O-[4-(Aminomethyl)benzyl]guanine also reacts with chloride ions to form alkylation products such as chloral hydrate and chloralformamide. These compounds could be used as insecticides or herbicides.guanine. This compound binds to amines and thiosemicarbazide, causing cross-linking of the amino acids lysine and arginine.
