Axitinib is an potent and selective inhibitor of i.e. VEGFR-1, VEGFR-2 and VEGFR-3. (VEGFR=Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor Receptors). Axitinib seems to inhibit growth of breast tumors in vovo at doses of about up to 100 mg/kg. Axitinib disruptes tumor microvasulatures as measured by MRI. Axitinib is the API in the drug sold under the trade name Inlyta(R).
