Brevicompanine B is a fungal metabolite originally isolated from P. brevicompactum that has plant growth and circadian rhythm regulatory activity. It inhibits hypocotyl elongation in lettuce seedlings when used at a concentration of 100 mg/L but does not inhibit elongation in rice seedlings at a concentration of 300 mg/L.
