Plant: Seeds of the horse chestnut (Aesculus hippocastanum).

• Acts as a sealant on the vascular walls of the veins by altering their permeability –> thereby reducing the outflow of fluid into the tissues and accelerating the drainage of water retention in the tissues
• are used for the treatment of leg vein disorders (chronic venous insufficiency) and swelling after surgery or sports injuries, hemorrhoids
