Verticillin A is a fungal epipolythiodioxopiperazine (ETP) metabolite with antibiotic properties. Verticillin A is inactive against fungi, Verticillin A showed considerable anti-tumor properties against HeLa Cells. Verticillin A is a selective HMTase inhibitor. Verticillin A selectively inhibits SUV39H1, SUV39H2, G9a, and GLP in vitro. Verticillin A is structurally very similar to Chaetocin, differing only in the position of two hydroxyl groups. The potential mode of action is connected to the chromatin remodeling. Potential mode of action/Key words: Targeting DNA, HMTase inhibitor, Antibiotic, Antitumoral
