Dl-alpha-tocopherol is a synthetic form of alpha-tocopherol. This synthetic form of alpha-tocopherol is less bioavailable than the d-alpha-tocopherol and is only half as potent. This form of alpha-tocopherol is frequently found in nutritional supplements and fortified foods.
