Honey season is Pyrrolizidine alkaloid season

Many people like to eat and drink honey in many variations. But as bees do not distinguish between pyrrolizidine-containing and pyrrolizidine-free plants, these substances are also found in honey again.

The Federal Institute for Risk Assessment has compiled a collection of FAQs to inform about the occurrence and the associated dangers. Link to the article
