A plant flavonoid to inhibit cell proliferation by arresting the cell cycle at the G2/M phase. Inhibition of growth through cell cycle arrest andinoduction of p53. Inhibitory effects on tumor promotion may also be due to inhibition of kinase activity.

Plant: Apigenin is found in celery (Apium graveolens), chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla), dahlias and henna (Lawsonia inermis), among others.

  • Towards malignant tumors, apigenin exhibits cytostatic activity by arresting the cell cycle of proliferation in the G2/M phase
