Sandramycin is a high molecular weight, symmetric, cyclic depsipeptide belonging to the quinomycyn class produced by Kribbella sp. Sandramycin is described to bisintercalate DNA strands through its two pendant quinoline moeities. This bisintercalation mechanism translates to a potent antitumor activity correlated with Sandramycin. Some EC50 values in different cell lines: HCT-15: 4.0 x 10-9; HL-60: 3.6 x 10-9; Raji: 7.5 x 10-10. Potential mode of action/Key words: Targeting DNA, DNA bisintercalation, Antitumoral, Cytotoxic
