Understanding and Using AI Responsibly

Artificial intelligence (AI) is currently one of the most widely discussed topics in the business world. At Cfm Oskar Tropitzsch GmbH, it was therefore clear to us that we wanted not only to observe this technology, but also to gain a well-founded understanding of its opportunities and risks. For this reason, we participated in a training workshop offered by the Nuremberg Institute of Technology Georg Simon Ohm.

As a partner to the research-driven pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and chemical industries, we operate daily in an environment where trust, reliability, and data protection are of the utmost importance. Our customers entrust us with sensitive information and projects, making confidentiality and the responsible handling of data an integral part of our corporate culture.

For precisely this reason, it is important for us to engage with emerging technologies such as AI. Only those who understand a technology’s capabilities and limitations can evaluate and use it responsibly. This is not about entering sensitive data into AI systems; rather, it is about understanding where AI can create value. For example, in administrative tasks, information processing, or supporting internal workflows.

Under the guidance of Sandra Fischer, seminar leader at the Nuremberg Institute of Technology Georg Simon Ohm, we gained valuable insights into current developments, practical applications, and the challenges associated with the use of artificial intelligence. Of particular interest to us was the question of how companies can leverage modern technologies without compromising data protection and information security.

The training demonstrated that progress does not mean adopting every new technology without careful consideration. Instead, it is about identifying opportunities, understanding risks, and making responsible decisions. In our industry, this knowledge is especially important.
